Brentford claimed their first win on the road in the Premier League with a comfortable victory over Wolves at Molineux.  The newly-promoted London side, who arrived in the West Midlands with an unbeaten away record, took a first-half lead with a well-struck Ivan Toney penalty.  The Bees forward then turned provider to shrug off the challenge of Max Kilman and find strike partner Bryan Mbeumo at the back post for his first top-flight goal.  Wolves, who have failed to score in their opening three league defeats at home, did not register a shot on target in the West Midlands sunshine despite having more possession.  Adama Traore's physicality and speed was a constant threat, and substitute Hwang Hee-chan impressed again on only his second appearance, but manager Bruno Lage will be concerned by his side's lack of cutting edge.   The only negative for Brentford was the loss of Shandon Baptiste for a needless second yellow card, five minutes after his first, after he hauled down Francisco Trincao after losing possession.  Thomas Frank's side climb to ninth in the table and face high-flying Liverpool in their next league outing, while Wolves slip to 14th with a trip to Southampton to follow.

Hwang Hee-chan scored 20 minutes after coming off the bench scoring on his debut as Wolves got their first Premier League goals of the season in a victory over Watford.  Bruno Lage's side had lost their opening three games 1-0 and after 69 shots without scoring, it took Francisco Sierralta heading into his own net from Marcal's cross to give Wolves the advantage.  Hwang then came off the bench and stabbed home the rebound from close range after Marcal's shot had been blocked on the line. Watford's club-record 10-game winning home run in the league - which helped them win promotion from the Championship - comes to an end.  Nelson Semedo had Wolves' best chances before the goal but shot straight at keeper Bachmann from Francisco Trincao's through ball - and then slotted wide from Raul Jimenez's backheel.

Wolves secured their first win of the season as they beat out-of-form Nottingham Forest to reach the Carabao Cup third round.

Wolves head coach Bruno Lage told BBC WM 95.6: "It was a good game and we did what we planned with the way we want to play. In the end it was the same as against Tottenham, more ball, press high and create chances. We feel confident with the work we are doing and we are happy with the result. Daniel Podence started working with us about one week ago, I spoke him this morning about playing and I said it's like his pre-season and he would play 45 minutes.  I gave him more minutes which was good because he scored. This competition is massively important for us."

EFL Cup: Lage not happy at fixture pile-up Simon Stone, BBC Sport https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/wolverhampton-wanderers  Wolves boss Bruno Lage has not been in England long but he has quickly begun to understand how congested our fixture schedule is.  Wolves play Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, two days after the Premier League defeat by Tottenham. The reason? A clash with a T20 game at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. "It is a strange decision," said Lage. "Why did we play on Sunday? Because Tottenham played on Thursday and they are allowed three days to recover and prepare. "That's not our fault so in the same way, we should play on Wednesday. "But Nottingham Forest don’t have the stadium available. That is not our fault either.   "Tottenham get their three days, Forest are allowed to play at home and we are in the middle. No-one pays any attention to us. "I think for my players, the club and also the Wolves fans, in the end, no-one thinks about us. They think about everyone but not us."
